Razzmatazz Getting to know...Tony

Hi

I'm Tony, and if you've read Sue's testimony [use this link] then you'll know I'm married to her. My job at Razzmatazz is to provide the music accompaniment to the great songs we sing such as "My God is a great big God", "If I were a butterfly", "Be bold be strong", "I am a friend of God" and many, many more.

I have been involved in children's work at our church ever since I became a Sunday School teacher at the age of about 21 and I'm still a Sunday School teacher today, although we don't call it Sunday School nowadays.

I grew up in a Christian family and so was required to attend Sunday School from the early age of 8 years old which was when we moved into the Ruislip area having originally lived in Acton. I was taught over the years by various Sunday School teachers that Jesus died for my sins and I believed that and thanked God for that. But it wasn't until I was about 18 years old that I then understood why Jesus had to die for my sins? It was because God required a sacrifice in order to forgive sin and it had to be a perfect sinless sacrifice. (Hebrews 9:22 without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.)

Having realised this I was then able to thank Jesus for becoming my sacrifice for my sin and for coming into my life. Life doesn't get any easier when you become a Christian because you still face the same problems as anyone else but it sure is a lot more comforting to know you have a God to turn to and who cares for you.

God bless,

Tony
