Dear Friends,
Some PNG Praise and Prayer requests:
Picking up from my March letter, The Minaveha New Testament dedication is planned to go ahead on the 14th August. The Translators Training Course went well as have other similar courses held in the various Regional Centres of PNG. Praise the Lord that so many PNGians are becoming skilled in Linguistic and Translation. Bob Brown reports a satisfactory visit to the village and was able to make corrections in Waris Exodus, as well as getting more copies of Genesis into people’s hands. Bob also continues to Consultant check for other translators. Tim Lithgow, who grew up in PNG, was elected Director. Prior to this Tim served in the Aviation Department, so he brings lots of experience and understanding of PNG culture to the job.
Please pray the Lord of the Harvest for more workers for this harvest field. Right now teachers, and other support staff are urgently needed. A new intake of members will be attending the South Pacific Orientation Course (August - November), please pray that all visa and needed support, will come through for each one to arrive on time. PNG have been allocated the first Missionary Kodiak light aircraft, specially designed to use jet fuel. This plane will be flown from Waxhaw, North Carolina, to Ukarumpa mid August. Please pray for a safe flight and for a good sale of one single-engine Cessna plane that uses Av.gas. Avgas is not readily available in PNG as Mobil pulled its supply a few years ago. Praise that my friend and colleague, Lynn Wood, received an MBE in the recent honours given by the Queen, for her contribution to Literacy and the work of SIL.
Christian love,
Jean
