Our Services and Activities

Sunday Morning Service: this is led by a nominated person, sometimes the invited speaker, other times a church member. It includes singing hymns and songs, prayer, Bible readings, various activities e.g. quizzes and competitions and the ubiquitous notices! Children attend the first part of the service and then go to their separate activities. Our children's teachers and helpers have all been checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service through the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service.

We aim to stream our service to our channel on YouTube, and audio recordings of the sermons are available on our Sermons page.

Communion: the format of this service follows the guidelines set out in Paul's letter to the Corinthian church. Bread is broken and passed around the congregation. Wine is poured into individual glasses [after Covid], which are similarly passed around. We believe the bread and wine are symbols of Jesus Christ's body which was broken for us, and His blood which was shed, when He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice, acceptable to God, for our sins. This service is held in the morning service on alternate Sundays.

Tuesday Focus: this is held on Tuesday afternoons and starts with tea and coffee, biscuits and a time to socialise. Most weeks there is an activity or a speaker in the informal setting.

Teddy Bear Club: this is held on Wednesday mornings and is for parents and babies/toddlers. There is a waiting list at the moment, but if you want more information, or want to have your name added to the list, please contact Sandra Michaelson on 07917 683925 or email teddybearclub@srcf.org.uk. Our helpers include trained/registered child minders. Use this link to our dedicated Teddy Bear Club page.

Prayer Meeting: this is held on Wednesday evening. It is a time mainly devoted to prayer, which is the powerhouse of the church. Some weeks we concentrate on a particular subject.

Cell Groups: these are held at various times on alternate weeks. They are often held in the homes of members and offer the opportunity for worship, prayer and Bible study in a more intimate atmosphere than the church building. One of the Leadership Team will be pleased to introduce you to a group, if you do not already meet with one.

Men for God: this is a monthly meeting for men, usually the last Friday evening of each month. Chat, activities, encouragement, tea and coffee are all on the agenda.

Ladies Prayer Breakfast: this is a monthly meeting for women, usually the last Saturday morning of each month. Breakfast, continental or full English, followed by praise and prayer.
